A Blog About Blogs and Blogging!


This is a blog about blogs and blogging! I have to be honest, I've never blogged before. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever even read a blog before today. So, my lack of blogging experience makes me the perfect "test subject" on what makes a great blog, what draws people to certain blogs, and what brings them back to the blog. 

A little more about me: I love Jesus-centered worship. I love it so much, that I actually lead it at my church. I often search the internet for ideas about things like song writing, music techniques, and trends. It only made sense that I searched for blogs about worship! Here are my discoveries:

Blog #1

My first discovery was a blog titled "Worship online". See my links below if you'd like to check it out! The thing that drew me to this specific blog was how easily laid out it was! As I was scrolling I was able to see all different types of post's and imagery, which provided me easy access to all different types of tutorials, songs, and all different things related to worship! 


Blog #2

My second discovery was a blog titled "Worship Blogger". See links below if you'd like to check it out! This blog was also great, but not as good as the other one. One of the things I didn't like about this blog was how complex and scattered out it was. As I would scroll it would be a pain for me to look for the specific ideas I want and what I need. However on the positive side, it was able to provide me lots of titles, and those titles that I would click on would take me straight to what that title said. Overall this blog was not as strong as my first discovery! (Worship Online)

Entry #3: Doing Life to the Music of Rafi

Visual rhetoric is a fancy way of describing how we feel when we see certain things. Just like smelling a freshly cooked meal at your grandmother's house can cause you to feel warmth and acceptance, we respond similarly to things that we see. In this blog, I want to talk about how visual rhetoric impacts our day-to-day life! I was surprised to discover that visual rhetoric impacts my commute to work, my choice for lunch, the music I listen to, the video games I'm drawn to, the computer I use for homework, and the way I feel when I walk in the house. Think about it: my drive to work is bombarded by billboards. Those billboards contain pictures, colors, fonts, statements, sometimes no words at all.
